MY LIFE STORY

Welcome to my blog. My name is Brantina Chirinda. I was born and raised on a Zimbabwean farm in a village called Buhera. Buhera was located in a rural area away from the world’s vast technological advances. Despite being underprivileged, I earned a Bachelor of Science general degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Zimbabwe. From learning to count using stones under trees in our rural area to studying algebra and geometry towards my Bachelor of Science in mathematics, I have found mathematics fascinating due to its prominent application in our lives. I am a mother, sister, marathoner, simplicity-seeker, philomath, reader of books, drinker of tea, faith-walker, and avid traveller. I fast throughout the day to keep my hormones in a state that nature intended. Our ancestors never had food readily available but had to hunt. I run to escape the noise in the world. When I run, I am quiet and free. I read books to prevent cognitive decline. I am a faith-walker and always have ‘daily conversations with the Holy Spirit. I travel to broaden my horizons. My next trip is an Ayahuasca Journey to the Amazon rainforest. I am a protagonist in girls’ health and STEM education. Please visit our website at www.saywen.org to see our work.

The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains.
